Hello Lovelies! It's day 178 of COVID's life alterations for our family, but I know some of you have been dealing with it even longer. So much has changed during this time, and it can be a little bit overwhelming to digest everything. With that in mind, how are YOU holding up?
Remember, that in order for you to be your best at whatever it is you do - whether that is being mom, dad, supportive spouse, caregiver, teacher, boss, employee, student - you first need to take care of yourself. So, make sure you are giving yourself the care you deserve. Take a 15 minute coffee/tea/wine/nap break. Whatever it is that lets you unwind and recharge. Do it!
Now that you're all relaxed, I'll let you in on the changes going on in my life, and hopefully not bore you to death. 50/50ish.
As I mentioned in my last MM I was apprehensive about going back to work this Fall because of the pandemic and because I was worried that Ontario's school reopening plan left too many of us (educators & students) vulnerable. Since this year hasn't been kind to me health wise, I didn't feel comfortable putting my health and the health of my family at risk. So, I made the difficult decision to resign my position.
Now, here I am in middle of a pandemic, looking to make a career change, and feeling both anxious and excited about it. I have a plan, and I hope that I can be successful in that plan. First, I have started taking real estate photos for a local realtor, and I find that I really enjoy that. So, I have revamped my main photography website to reflect this. Secondly, I am looking for part time work. I'm optimistic that I can grow my photography business, but until I do so, I still need to bring in money. Yep, I have to pay those bills! Also, I really do like working. I'm certainly not one of those people who enjoys being at home all the time, with nothing to do besides watching TV, bleh. I need to be busy, and a part time job will help me to do that and would be something I'd keep doing along with the photography. If you know of anything, let me know! I'm on Indeed everyday looking.

Brandon and I are still doing our best to live a healthy lifestyle. My weight hasn't changed much since the last MM (it fluctuates but it's steady in the right direction), but Brandon has lost a bit more and he is now down a few pant sizes. I'm super proud of him and us for making these changes and taking our health seriously. We feel better, and that is absolutely what matters!
I did manage to read book #32 of the year. It was a collection of poetry titled Love Her Wild by Atticus, and it was great. If you're into poetry, I'd definitely recommend you give it a read. If you aren't, I'd still recommend you give it a read. You know, expand your mind and all that. Anyway, I haven't decided what I'll be reading next. I do have several already purchased books on my Kindle drive, so I'm sure it will be one of those. Do you have any must read book recommendations?
Lastly, it's Labor Day or Labour Day if you're in Canada. I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday weekend and that you celebrated in a safe manner. Summer is gone, Fall will be here before you know, and if you're in Canada like me, Winter all too soon. Go out and enjoy the last bits of long, warm days while you can!
