“And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul” -John Muir
The weather is slowly warming up, with a few temperature dips here and there, so Brandon and I are taking advantage of every minute of sunshine and fresh air we can get these days. We are still in lockdown and have stay at home orders here in Ontario, with good reason, so the only place we have convenient to us is still the Bear Creek Eco Park, which is just next door. Thankfully!
And even though it’s nice to get outside and enjoy nature again, the landscape still looks pretty bleak. The trees haven’t quite started to fully bud yet, and there really are very few flowers to be had, aside from the occasional dandelion. Though, a few of our trees have flowered, and by that I mean two. So yeah, it’s still pretty brown and grey here, and not very photogenic. But we still try to capture something on each outing.
My project photo for this week is one I took of Brandon’s camera as he was preparing to take a photo on one of our walks in the eco park. He was on a mission to take only 24 photos that day, about the amount you get on a typical roll of 35mm film, and he wasn’t looking at them until he finished the “whole roll” and loaded them up to Lightroom. I believe he shot them all in one type of film simulation as well, and he seems to have liked the experiment. I’ve told him he needs to do a video about it for our YouTube channel, so hopefully he’ll do that someday.
