*Before we get started, I just want to say to all you lovelies that I know it's a difficult time for us all. Most of us are cooped up at home in the hopes of keeping us and everyone else safe, and it's beginning to take its toll on us all. I have my good days and my bad, and if you are following me on Instagram and Twitter (and you definitely should be!), you are witnessing those ups and downs on my daily posts and stories. For the most part I'm trying to keep a normal routine, and keep posting and blogging per usual. Therefore, I bring you March's wine picks!
As you know, this year I challenged myself and my husband to spend less across the board, even when it comes to trips to the liquor store, or as it's known in Ontario, the LCBO. I set a $10 or less spending limit per bottle of wine, yikes! But so far, so good.
This month we gave up alcohol for Lent (though there were those Quarantinis about halfway through, oops!), so we didn't do any experimenting with new wines. Fortunately, I already had a few good picks lined up in my wine white list, so I'll be showing you those this month. And, since there will be two whites wines this month, next month I'll feature two reds. Sound good? Good!
So, without further ado, I bring you March's Picks!
Our first pick is Loios White, a light & crisp white by Joáo Portugal Ramos in the Alentejo region of Portugal. This wine rates an XD (extra dry) on the sweetness scale and its alcohol percentage is a 12.5. It pairs well with pastas and fish and is a wonderful, but is also just as refreshing a choice for drinks with friends. The cost for this wine is CAD $9.45 (about $6.70 US). Feel free to stock up at this price range!
The second pick for this month is Casal Thaulero Pinot Grigio IGT. This is a light & crips Pinot Grigio by Casal Thaulero D.P.L. in Abruzzo, Italy. This wine rates a D (dry) on the sweetness scale and its alcohol percentage is a 13. Like are first pick, this wine pairs well with pastas and fish and is also great for sipping with friends. The cost for this wine is CAD $9.55 (about $6.77 US).
